The Ohio First District Court of Appeals reversed a 51-year
sentence given to a man who pleaded guilty to 10 counts of
raping an 8-year-old girl because Judge Melba Marsh cited
scripture prior to doling out the sentence (Matthew 18:5-6) "But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones which
believe in me, it would be better for him that a millstone
were hanged around his neck, and that he were drowned in the
depth of the sea." Thus, concluded the appeals court, the defendant was denied his right to due process because Judge Marsh violated the erroneous principle of "separation of church and state." Prosecutor Mike Allen responded, "I am absolutely appalled by this ruling. For 200 years in this country, judges have been invoking scripture in the courtroom. I think this reversal of sentence is total nonsense." |

This is the Deacon Speakin! You know for some reason or another I was under the impression that this was and is a "Christian Nation" that we live in. Boy am I mis-lead or is "Christian" synonomous with "lazy" and "don't get involved"? You all that read this may have a totally different Bible than I do but you see my Bible tells me things like "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and unto God that things that are God's". That leads me to believe that things of a "moral nature" (And I don't mean something to eat either!) come to us from HIM not another human being! Since they (moral standards) come from God then we that wear the name or rather I should say call ourselves "Christian" are responsible to God, not politicians and "polictially correct" corrupt individuals! The above pathetic excuse for justice and "equal rights" can only happen because those of us that call our selves Christian let it happen! JESUS has not changed in principle or methodology why the hell have we? Wanna talk about equal rights a while? What about the little girls rights? Who or what is going to repair the damage done to her? What is going to take away her terror? What is going to restore for her the natural desires that God gave to all of us? Only God can and thats because "Christians" don't want to get involved, or it would never happened in the first place! Had we "Christians" maintained the involement that the founding fathers of this country had in the first place this terrible atrocity would have had a far less chance of happening than it now does in todays time! Absouletly none of the people that make the above kinds of "rulings" are anything more than 'elected' officials! Apparently they got to where they are not by merit but by folks making an X on a piece of paper or pulling a lever on a machine! How sick can we get? Oh I know the story - "It aint my daughter!" or "It aint my wife or sister". What makes you think it wont be the next time? What are WE "Christian" men going to do to protect our wives and daughters from these predators? If these folks can be voted in - by God's grace they can be voted out!!! Criminals make damn good use of the appeals system in this country so why dont we? "Cant get involved!", "Turn the other cheek!", "I dont have the time!" or "Working 2 jobs to provide leaves me not time for this kind of thing!". Well when its your wife or daughter that gets RAPED and brutalized I bet your story changes to something like "God I wish I would have....". It will be far too late then my brother! What are you going to do NOW? Yeah I know you folks from Ohio think I am picking on you but believe me the same kinds of things are happening nation wide! The glorious state of Utah in its infinite wisdom and public election process has recently elected to public office a openly self-declared lesbian to public office! What kind of message is that giving our children? What are they thinking in their minds about the issue of homo-sexuality? Gay rights? They like the criminal element have more rights than the everyday person in this country. (More on this in the next issue of "Deacon Speakin!") There is something I know about YOU! Yes you sitting there in front of your computer screen reading this - you are intelligent, you can read and you can understand! Let me ask you this - Are you, both men and women, going to continue to call yourselves Christians and remain LAZY and UN-INVOLVED? Women dont you want the protection that your men are capable of giving you, capable because God made them capable? Drive them to the voting booths and fix em a nice dinner and you men get off your dead rear-ends and take back the responsiblity God gave you - LOOK AFTER YOUR FAMILY! and I dont mean "passively"! Take action, stand on the 2 feet God gave you, be a GOD's MAN, not a couch lizard! The Deacon
